This work tells of a fragment trying to exist against the slow but merciless erosion of nature and time. The scattered stains and uncontrolled textures on the surface carry the aesthetics of chance; while the solitary structure on the horizon represents human abandonment and the reflex of resistance. The yellow and earth tones in the color palette suggest both drought and the warmth remaining from the past. This painting is like a post-disaster silence... it doesn't scream, but draws you in. While confronting the viewer with loneliness, it also leaves a strange peace.
