Ecem Durgun is a contemporary artist who shapes her production on an interdisciplinary ground. The bond she established with drawing since childhood transformed into a more conscious artistic orientation with the Graphic Design and Photography education she received during high school years. Her innate ambidextrous ability to write with her right hand while drawing with her left hand constitutes an important part of bodily awareness and intuitive flow in her production practice. In her artistic works, she actively uses new media possibilities such as digital drawing, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) alongside traditional techniques like oil paint, acrylic, charcoal and dry paint.
The artist, who graduated from Istanbul Kültür University Art Management undergraduate program, received education in the field of curatorship during this process; worked as an assistant to Artists Kamil Teoman Südor and Reyhan Uludağ Eraslan and served at IKUSAG Gallery. During her university years, she started a double major in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design department, but left this program after deciding to continue her education in a different direction. After graduation, she participated in national and international exhibitions and gained exhibition and organization experience by working at art fairs.
In 2021, she implemented and curated her first online exhibition project titled "Invisible Visibility" with a nightmare theme, bringing together 13 artists from national and international fields. With this project, she continued her productions that approach online exhibition spaces as experimental and conceptual areas; she continues to organize digital exhibitions as an independent curator. At the same time, she continues her work on projects to be realized in physical spaces.
The artist started the Anadolu University Web Design and Coding associate degree program in 2021; she was accepted as first place to Yıldız Technical University Art and Design Master's Program in 2023. In 2025, she graduated by submitting her thesis prepared in the field of Psychedelic Art.
