Halil Erdem

Halil Erdem: In 1986, I graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Education, Kastamonu Primary School Teaching. I worked as a teacher for 35 years and retired. I have been continuing my painting work since our first group painting exhibition that we opened in 1992. I have listed my exhibition activities below. Additionally, my interdisciplinary transitions between painting and literature have contributed to all my works. During high school, I took painting lessons from Educator Painter Cahit Anık. During our university years, I took painting courses within the curriculum as required by our department. My greatest painting teachers, however, were the exhibitions I visited. I opened my first personal exhibition in 1997 at Antalya State Fine Arts Gallery, my second and third personal exhibitions in 1998 and 2006 at ANSAN Art Gallery. I opened my 4th exhibition at Fikret Otyam Art Gallery in 2026. Later, I participated in 30 group exhibitions at art galleries such as Antalya Museum, Akdeniz University, AKM, Bursa Mahfel Mado Art Gallery, ANSAN, ANTÇEV. I participated in the 2002 Antalya Painting Festival and was featured in the 2002 Catalog. Additionally, during this process, I also pursued literary work: I have a total of 15 published books including 5 novels, 2 stories, 2 folklore studies, 6 poetry and children's books.
