At the center of my work lies the inner story carried by the human face and body. Particularly in my portraits and self-portraits, I aim to make visible the distance between the image an individual presents to the outside world and the emotional states they experience in their inner world. For me, the figure is not merely a body; it is a carrier of memory, identity and emotions. My self-portrait based works were initially shaped by the desire to look at myself from the outside; over time they have transformed into an expressive space where the idea of a singular and holistic identity proves insufficient. These encounters the figure has with itself suggest that the self is not a fixed and unchanging structure; it is a fragmented and plural process that is constantly reconstructed depending on perception, time and perspective. In this context, the concepts of reflection and repetition are treated not as tools that confirm reality, but as elements that make visible the internal relationships, contradictions and divisions an individual establishes with themselves. In my works, reflection moves away from being an element that confirms reality and transforms into a ground that reveals the unreliability of perception. Through this encounter, the viewer is invited to confront the idea that the identity accepted as "self" is not a singular, continuous and definitive structure.
