Blue Silence is not just a color theme; it's like an attempt to capture that serene void within a chaotic world. The harsh texture I achieved with the impasto technique perfectly emphasizes how "powerful and heavy" silence can actually be as an emotion. My leaving the paint in thick layers on the surface (impasto) allows light to create different refractions on the work. This technique gives the work a three-dimensional character, pushing the viewer not just to observe the piece but to want to touch it. The direction of brush and palette knife strokes adds a circular and diagonal energy flowing from upper right to lower left to the work. Despite its name "silence," this creates a feeling of "calm before the storm" that actually contains great potential energy within.
