Lake

This work is a study created using oil pastel technique on paper, depicting a stream within a forest. It was produced using a photograph found on the internet as a reference, with a focus on the refraction of natural light on the water's surface and the reflection of tree shadows on the water. In the composition, the tree branches and leaves at the top are rendered in dark blue-purple tones, while the flow of the stream is emphasized with vivid turquoise and green tones. The characteristic textured and layered nature of pastel has been used to express the movement of the water and the vibration of light on the surface. Although the work originates from a photographic reference, the bold and saturated use of colors carries it away from realism toward an impressionistic interpretation. The work offers a personal interpretation that combines the transience of water and light in nature with the tactile and fluid nature of the pastel medium.
