This work addresses the erasure and disregard of women's identity in the traditional world. While the colorful kilim motifs in the background symbolize a vibrant, rooted, and dominant culture, the depiction of the woman in black and white illustrates how she is rendered colorless, silent, and pushed to the background within this colorful world. While the facelessness of the figure represents the invisibility imposed on women within social structures, the continuation of the background patterns across her body points to the fact that she is seen not as an individual with her own identity, but merely as a vessel carrying culture. Through this colorful-colorless contrast, the work tells the story of a woman's search for her own essence in the shadow of traditional burdens.
