Inspired by Pakal, the god of water, transformation, and the flow of life in Mayan mythology; it is an original mixed media work in which I transformed a canvas clock surface by combining collage, acrylic, linocut print, and paint techniques.

In Maya civilization, Pakal is a divine figure representing the power of water and the cycle of life. Water is a symbol of transformation, purification, intuition, and the continuity of life. In this work, Pakal has been reinterpreted through the idea of remaining in flow, renewal, and preserving creative energy.
The piece is a mixed-media work combining collage, acrylic, linocut printing, and paint techniques. Originally sold as a canvas clock in a store, this object was gifted to me by a colleague. I then transformed the existing surface, layering it with my own visual language and narrative.
Thus, an object that once measured time was transformed into an original work of art that questions time and the flow of life.
