Untamed Production

Is it possible to resist the image, with images?

#02

Twenty-nine artists answered the call. We were not looking for the well-made, but for work that holds the viewer where they stumble, not where they settle.

Three threads run through the selection: the covered body, the objects of the home, and the night. The ten artists are not ranked; their names follow the alphabet, each with the same weight.

Alper F Seven, Night Landscape (Overturned Mercedes)

Alper F Seven

An overturned car in the night. The landscape breaks.

Working from his studio in Ankara for over twenty years. His night landscapes build a familiar scene and leave one thing inside that breaks it; here, an overturned car.

Batınay Ünsür

He shoots first and writes the meaning in the edit.

He reverses cinema's usual order: image first, meaning later. He calls himself not a director but a "gatherer".

Eren Kenar, Smoking Bluffer

Eren Kenar

Unfinished figures; painting shows its own machinery.

Instead of whole stories he builds fragmented narratives. Frame, easel, studio and museum often become the very subject of his canvases.

Oil on canvas, 140 × 160 cm

Gülsüm Önder Kobal, Passage Corridor (Limbo)

Gülsüm Önder Kobal

Passing through everything that has been named.

Passage Corridor (Limbo), 2026, installation

Hazal Arol, North Wind

Hazal Arol

Myths retold on wood.

She works in her İzmir studio in oil on wood and paper, pencil and ceramics. In her series, old tales turn into strange allegories of the present.

Oil on wood, from The North series

İlke İmer, No Image, Image

İlke İmer

A trace between photograph, text and body.

An artist and researcher working between Istanbul and Berlin. In her long-exposure analogue photographs the image does not represent; it remembers.

No Image, Image, 2025

Keziban Kibar, The Other Me

Keziban Kibar

Shifting, doubled faces. The gaze never settles.

She works in oil, collage and relief print. The second pair of eyes she adds to her portraits keeps the image from settling into a single face.

The Other Me
Oil on canvas

Sevinç Orman, Heirloom

Sevinç Orman

The household lace wraps around the body.

She uses her own body as both subject and material. Crocheted lace from the dowry chest becomes veil, hood and bind in her photographs.

Heirloom, 2026
Archival pigment print, 70 × 100 cm

Şevval Aksu, In the Same Room as the Image

Şevval Aksu

The room of someone at odds with images.

In gouache on paper she builds a room of floating objects: a fairy-tale book with no words, a paper shredder, two feet under a cloth. In her own words: every resistance lasts a single day.

In the Same Room as the Image, 2025–2026

Zeynep Şeker, White Surface

Zeynep Şeker

A hanging carcass, and a woman who looks back.

On two metres of paper, a hanging carcass, and beneath it a tiny woman. The white space between them is the real subject.

White Surface
Oil on paper, 105 × 200 cm
