This work treats the eye not as a visual organ but as a space of consciousness. The stairs placed inside the eye represent the conscious transition from superficial looking to deep observation.
The small figures are pieces of awareness progressing within the individual's own mental space. The work emphasizes that looking is an action directed not only toward the external world but also toward the internal world.
The work was produced with Mountain Blue tinted charcoal on Schoeller paper. The cool and limited tonal palette invites the viewer to thought rather than emotion.
