It depicts what it would have been like if the Bandırma steamship and that famous turning point had been painted at that exact date. For this purpose, using a 1925 photograph, the closest possible representation to the real appearance of the Bandırma steamship before its dismantling has been painted. Since the real image of the Bandırma steamship being different from the current replica Bandırma steamship in our memories would make understanding the painting difficult, it has been combined with some symbolic additions that became emblematic in the replica ship. Thus, it was intended to prevent it from being an ordinary seascape, but to reach the original form of the steamship as much as possible. It is a depiction of the moment of departure towards the final port and the shore, the dawn breaking over the Black Sea, the transition from darkness to light.
