Born in Mersin, Tarsus, Gözde Yıldırım began her art education at Mersin Nevit Kodallı Fine Arts High School Painting Department. After completing her basic art education, in 2011 she studied at Mersin University Faculty of Fine Arts Sculpture Department and gained expertise in form and volume discipline. The artist completed her undergraduate education by graduating from Mustafa Kemal University Painting-Art Teaching program in 2018, and continues her academic career at the graduate level in the Painting Department of Mersin University Fine Arts Institute. Yıldırım's artistic practice centers on the theme of "the formation of memories" as its conceptual focal point. The artist translates the traces of the past, the layers of memory, and the transformation of recollections over time into a visual language, producing her works with an interdisciplinary approach. Throughout her career, Yıldırım's works have been exhibited in many national and international group exhibitions, and she has documented her artistic success with awards received from national competitions she participated in. The artist, who continues her work in Mersin, continues to question the connection between individual and collective memory with a modern aesthetic.
