Irmak Demirel (1997, İzmir) graduated from Çukurova University Ceramics Department in 2021. Demirel, who continues her production practice through ceramic material, is pursuing her education in the Master's Program of Ceramics and Glass Main Art Branch at Dokuz Eylül University.
In her artistic approach, she consciously stays away from direct narrative and representation. Her works focus on the simplification of form, abstraction of meaning, and the relationship established with the surface. Texture is not just a visual element for her, but an expression space that carries traces of memory, contact, and time. Organic references gradually lose their representational power and find correspondence in surface, rhythm, and the material's own reaction. Demirel treats production as an intuitive, transformation-open, and continuous research process rather than a completed result.
