Önder Özgenç graduated second in his class from Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department in 2016. He continued his academic and artistic journey with a master's thesis in the Painting Major Art Branch at Akdeniz University Fine Arts Institute, earning the title of scientist in 2021. His thesis titled "The Representation of the Father Role in the Context of Social Realism in Contemporary Turkish Painting" reflects his deep interest in the intersection between personal experience and social structures.
Özgenç presents layered narratives about suppressed emotions, family roles, and the individual's position within society in his paintings. The artist, who has recently turned to cartoon art, has managed to influence the direction of his works by adopting this direct and critical form of expression. This new approach, where he blends humor with emotional depth, is also reflected in his paintings. Continuing his productions with a perspective open to cultural diversity and intellectual development, Önder Özgenç continues to create works that bring together personal stories with broader social realities; he aims to both make people think and feel with his unique visual language.
