Grandmother Zehra, who became a symbol of the resistance of our villagers fighting to prevent the Akbelen forests from being opened to mining and the destruction of trees and olive groves, was often seen struggling alongside her granddaughter Esra.
Grandmother Zehra passed away in 2025. Today, the torch is carried by her granddaughter Esra.
