Mutlu and Mesut two brothers,
Mutlu and Mesut are two characters from the artist's childhood. These two figures, introduced in 1983, take place in the painting not only with their individual personalities but also with their contrasts. Mutlu is the only figure looking at the viewer; he carries a gaze that wants his beauty to be noticed. This gaze is innocent but contains expectation.
Mesut, on the other hand, looks in the direction he will move away from his current environment. For this character who is not afraid of beatings, the space he occupies is temporary. The void he looks at represents new excitements and uncertainty like a blank page. The magpies symbolize the curious outside world that establishes the balance between black and white.
