Aster flower vase

The origin of asters is based on Astrea, the goddess of justice in Greek mythology. As Astrea witnesses humanity's corruption, she weeps every seven years and her tears that fall to the ground turn into aster flowers. This flower is a symbol of resistance and hope. Inspired by this mythological reference, the aster flower vase design was created.

I started the work by first shaping it on a plaster lathe, then made molds and casting to turn it into a vase. I completed the work by applying underglaze decoration technique in various colors and 1050 degree transparent glaze application.
