This work addresses the erasure and invisibility of women's identity in the traditional world. While the colorful kilim motifs in the background symbolize a vibrant, rooted, and dominant culture, the depiction of the woman in black and white shows how she is rendered colorless, silent, and pushed into the background within this colorful world.
While the figure's facelessness represents the invisibility of women in the social structure, the continuation of the background patterns across her body points to the fact that she is seen not as an individual with her own identity, but merely as a vessel carrying culture. Through this colorful-colorless contrast, the work narrates a woman's search for her own essence in the shadow of traditional burdens.
