Edelweiss flower vase

The origin of edelweiss is based on Astrea, the goddess of justice in Greek mythology. As Astrea witnesses the corruption of humanity, she cries every seven years and her tears that fall to the ground turn into edelweiss flowers, which are symbols of resistance and hope. Inspired by this mythological reference, the edelweiss flower vase design was created.

I started the work by shaping it on a plaster lathe first, then I made it into a vase by molding and casting, and completed the work by applying underglaze decoration technique in various colors and transparent glaze application at 1050 degrees.
