I am İrem Yılmaz, 22 years old. I was born in İzmir on August 20, 2004. After completing my primary and secondary education, I attended Ahmet Adnan Saygun Anatolian Health Vocational High School. At the end of my four-year education and internship process, I decided to leave the healthcare field and pursue fine arts, which I had been passionately interested in since childhood. My interest in painting began at a young age. The admiration I felt for my older sister's paintings constantly encouraged me to improve myself. After finishing high school, I received one year of art education and was placed on the principal list for both Hitit University's Painting Department and Dokuz Eylül University's Tile Design Department in the university entrance exams. I chose Dokuz Eylül University's Faculty of Fine Arts, and I am currently a 4th-year student in the Tile Design Department. This decision turned out to be one of the best steps I have ever taken in my life, as it deepened my love for traditional art even further. My interest in traditional Turkish arts grows with each passing day, and ceramics has become an inseparable part of my life. I volunteer at Cem Atmaca's ceramics workshop in İzmir, continuing to develop myself through my experiences and observations. My goal is to create works that bring together the traditional and the modern while honoring our roots. Although I am still at the beginning of my journey, I aim to build a portfolio that will allow me to express myself and strengthen my artistic identity in a short time, thanks to my learning pace and desire to explore.
