Everything Upside Down

Everything Upside Down is a rebellious and transformative composition produced with acrylic technique on canvas measuring 70×90 cm, refusing to fit within the vertical format. The title is both very familiar and very loaded. Being upside down describes that shocking moment of transformation when up becomes down, right becomes wrong, reliable becomes unreliable. But this work presents being upside down not as a disaster, but as an inevitable and even necessary upheaval. Sometimes everything going upside down is the herald of a new order. The most striking formal feature of the composition is the use of large color planes. The calm light blue rectangle standing on the left, the pink and black masses rising on the right, the vibrant green emerging below and the dark areas in the lower corners — these do not stand parallel to each other, they push and force each other. No plane has fully settled, no area has found peace. This instability is the product of a conscious construction; being upside down itself is embedded in the spine of the composition. The color choices also emotionally support this upheaval. The cold and calm blue of the left confronts the fiery pink and navy blue of the right like opposite poles. The center between these two worlds is the most complex and most honest area: orange, purple, burgundy, black and beige layers are piled on top of each other, intertwined. The flesh-toned vertical area right in the middle — like an abstract human figure — symbolizes the being that stands, shaken but upright, within all this chaos. The orange and green forms in the upper section carry a hope energy that shoots upward despite all this weight. Everything that is upside down eventually falls somewhere; and where it falls is a new starting point. These small but insistent colors are the herald of that beginning. Thin lines — white, orange, pink — wander between these large planes like a search for balance. These are not solutions, but searches; traces of the mind trying to find new coordinates in an upside down world. Everything Upside Down can be the painting of both a personal moment of breaking and a collective experience. The work neither judges nor consoles that feeling of being shaken; it only makes it visible in a complete and honest way. And sometimes knowing that something is truly seen becomes a consolation in itself.
