Cross-Section of My Movement

Cross-Section of Motion is a multi-layered installation and collage composition produced in 2021, constructed on a circular format. The most striking formal decision of the work is the supporting surface itself: the circle symbolizes infinity, cycle, and uninterrupted movement. The artist has placed not movement within this form, but a cross-section of movement. The title points precisely to this tension — a frozen moment of the kinetic, a photograph of flow. The composition carries a relief-like depth created by the layering of paper, print, and painted materials with different textures and surfaces. The layers have gained not only a visual but also a physical dimension; some parts separate from the surface to produce shadow, making the viewer feel the layers of time. The calm gray and white tones of the left side give way to vibrant green, red, yellow, and purple toward the right — this color journey narrates a transition from stillness to motion, from silence to energy. The formal language is diverse, and this diversity is a conscious choice. Abstract painted surfaces, flat colored geometric cuts, stain textures, and photographic traces exist together. This plurality itself is also a reference to the nature of motion: movement is not monotonous, but heterogeneous and polyphonic. Cross-Section of Motion is the product of an effort to make time and energy visible. These pieces that seem trapped within the circular boundary actually push against that boundary; the circle is both a frame and a universe. The work invites the viewer to pause for a moment in the midst of movement and see the complex beauty within that moment.
