I Am Happy in My Cocoon is an intense composition in small format that opens up a great inner world, produced using mixed technique and acrylic in dimensions of 21.5×14.5 cm. The title is both a confession and a manifesto. The word "in my cocoon" describes withdrawal inward, creating a space of one's own and consciously distancing oneself from the noise of the outside world. However, this withdrawal is not passive; the expression "I am happy" transforms it into a determined and joyful choice. The work makes visible not loneliness, but the freedom and inner richness of chosen solitude. The background dominated by deep navy and black are the outer walls of this cocoon — like night, deep and protective. This dark ground is not threatening; on the contrary, it represents an embrace that wraps around, defines boundaries and creates a safe space. The rough surface of the texture, this dark ground animated with scratches and lines, carries all the hardness and complexity of the cocoon's outer surface. Within this deep darkness, color literally explodes. Purple, yellow, turquoise, pink-red and green; gathered at the center of the composition in forms that are interlocked and complement each other. This richness of color symbolizes the life inside the cocoon, that the inner world can be much more vibrant and multi-layered than the outer world. The pink-red form shooting upward on the left is like a longing or cry of joy outward from this interiority; a momentary outward expression of the energy growing inside the cocoon. Halftone dot textures assume a meaningful function in this work as well. These textures placed on forms as dark bands visually correspond to the weave of the cocoon, that is, the porous structure of the protective shell. The cocoon is not completely closed; it filters the outside world but does not exclude it entirely. The network of lines at the center — the intersection of thin white and colored lines — represents the inner skeleton of the cocoon, that is, the order and connections that the person establishes within themselves. Although this network appears chaotic, each line is in relationship with another; order is hidden within complexity. I Am Happy in My Cocoon carries great courage despite its small size. Because in an age when the modern world constantly imposes being open outward, being visible and staying connected, declaring withdrawal inward and being happy in it is not an ordinary attitude. The work reminds the viewer of their own cocoon — and perhaps gives permission to return to that cocoon.
