Scattered Mind is an honest and bold composition created using mixed media and acrylic in dimensions of 30.5×40.5 cm, pouring the inner image of the mind onto canvas.
The title is a colloquial expression and this everydayness is one of the work's strongest aspects. "Scattered mind" is a state that everyone knows, everyone experiences, but very few people can fully describe. This work does not try to describe that state; it directly shows it. Like a window opening into the mind, it confronts the viewer with the nature of thoughts that are not orderly, but layered, overlapping and contradictory to each other.
The wide turquoise area in the upper left seems like the place where this scattering begins — calm, clear and not yet mixed. But this clarity lasts only a few seconds; immediately next to it, red, orange, white and burgundy forms begin to pile on top of each other. We all know that scattered mind begins exactly like this: not a single thought, but dozens of thoughts emerging simultaneously, one pushing the other aside to move forward.
The center of the composition is one of the most crowded and intense areas of this series. Red, orange, pink, white and yellow forms cut, embrace and push each other. No form settles completely, no color tries to dominate; they all exist with equal noise. This visual plurality itself is the exact equivalent of scattered mind: which thought is more important cannot be known, which one to follow cannot be decided, they all ring simultaneously and at the same volume.
The halftone bands are in a particularly meaningful position in this work. These textural areas appearing on the left, right and bottom represent the digital noise of the modern mind, information bombardment and the mental crowd created by the attention economy. Scattered mind is no longer only personal; it is also a state imposed by the era itself.
The horizontal red band in the middle is the only decisive line within all this vertical chaos. This line symbolizes a cutting point, taking a breath, or a brief pause command that the mind gives itself. But even this line is not completely calm — forms pass over and under it, wanting to cut it too.
The pink and burgundy masses in the lower part carry the heaviest layer of scattering, namely the emotional burden. When thoughts are scattered, not only ideas but emotions also clash and scatter. This dark, deep area is where that emotional crowd collapses.
Scattered Mind, together with Surrender and Evolution, stands out as the most human and most compassionate work of this series. Because it does not ignore those states when we fail to be orderly, to focus and to keep everything in its place; on the contrary, it makes room for them on canvas and translates them into the language of art. The work says to the viewer: do you have a scattered mind? Welcome. You are not alone.
