Scattered Brain

Scattered Mind is an honest and bold composition, produced in mixed media and acrylic in dimensions of 30.5×40.5 cm, pouring the inner image of the mind onto canvas. The title is an everyday expression, and this ordinariness is one of the work's greatest strengths. "Scattered mind" is a state that everyone recognizes, everyone experiences, but very few people can fully describe. This work does not try to describe that state; it shows it directly. Like a window opening into the mind, it confronts the viewer with the nature of thoughts — not orderly, but layered, overlapping, and contradictory. The large turquoise area in the upper left feels like the place where this scattered quality begins — calm, clear, and not yet mixed. But this clarity lasts only a few seconds; immediately beside it, red, orange, white, and burgundy forms begin to pile on top of one another. We all know that a scattered mind begins just like this: not a single thought, but dozens of thoughts emerging at the same time, each pushing the other aside to come forward. The center of the composition is one of the most crowded and most intense areas of this series. Red, orange, pink, white, and yellow forms intersect, embrace, and push one another. No form settles fully, no color tries to dominate; all exist with equal noise. This visual multiplicity is itself the perfect equivalent of a scattered mind: it cannot be known which thought is more important, it cannot be decided which one to follow, all ring out simultaneously and at the same volume. The halftone bands occupy a particularly meaningful position in this work. These textured areas appearing on the left, right, and bottom represent the digital noise of the modern mind, the bombardment of information, and the mental crowding created by the attention economy. A scattered mind is no longer merely personal; it is also a state imposed by the age itself. The horizontal red band in the center is the single decisive line amid all this vertical chaos. This line signifies a breaking point, a moment of breath, or a brief pause the mind commands of itself. But even this line is not entirely calm — forms pass above and below it, seeking to cut through it as well. The pink and burgundy masses in the lower section carry the heaviest layer of the scattered state — namely, the emotional burden. When thoughts are scattered, it is not only ideas that collide and disperse, but emotions as well. This dark, deep area is where that emotional crowding collapses. Scattered Mind stands out, alongside Surrender and Transcendence, as the most humane and most compassionate work of this series. Because it does not ignore those moments when we fail to be orderly, to focus, and to keep everything in its place; on the contrary, it makes room for them on the canvas and translates them into the language of art. The work says to the viewer: do you have a scattered mind? Welcome. You are not alone.
